I'm Paul, a passionate fine arts photographer and I've been around cameras and into photography for a large portion of my life, but it's only in the last five odd years that I've taken the craft up seriously, getting my first DSLR and completing a Diploma through The Photography Institute (NZ)
My main interests fall on either side of the photography spectrum.
I specialise in Long Exposure Landscape Photography and High Speed Liquid Photography.
A quick technical explanation of my techniques (for those like me who love the technical bits and pieces). For the long exposure work I use filters that attach to the front of the camera lens to greatly increase the exposure time, even up to five minutes in the middle of a sunny day.
For my "regular" landscapes I love to use a technique called HDR where there's a combination of under exposed, correctly exposed and over exposed images into one final image to create something with a far greater dynamic range than what the camera can produce.
And finally the high speed liquids are captured using flashes to freeze the exact moment when a collision or the like occurs.
My techniques both with the camera and post processing with the computer are constantly evolving and I'm always looking for new stuff to try, so keep checking in and there's bound to be something new to feast your eyes on.
All photos are available are available for purchase as high quality prints with the option of being framed. Please contact myself for print paper and size options.
